Reed Between The Lines
I am loving BET's Reed Between The Lines. The first couple of episodes showed potential, then the next few delivered! I especially loved the "Let's Talk About Hair" episode where the older daughter considers getting a relaxer to please a boy - of course we love this episode - and I really loved the episode where the son cheats in school and takes forever to admit it to his parents despite the fact that he had plenty of opportunity to own up. Also a fav for me is the episode where the son is running for freshman class president and his sister enters the race to encourage him to do his best. This show really is following the legacy of the Cosby Show, as Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Tracee Ellis Ross intended. I'll be watching - you should too!

My Big-Chop-aversary
It’s my 2-year big-chop-aversary! Two years in, I haven’t regretted my decision for a single nanosecond. In that time, more people are going natural every day, more great natural hair care products have come out, independent stores have opened to carry these products, and our grassroots revolution continues to impact our world and concepts of beauty. My hope for the future is that every person will see and embrace his or her beauty, unencumbered by narrow preconceived notions of attractiveness imposed by others. Rock on, everybody.

Review of Komaza Care's Olive Moisture Mask
Yesterday I tried Komaza Care’s Olive Moisture Mask for the first time. I LOVE IT!

First of all, it smelled refreshing, almost like cucumbers, so it scored points for smelling good, but would it give my hair the deep conditioning treatment it promised? So I moved on to applying the product, which was nice and creamy with no greasy feeling to the touch. After washing my hair, I worked it through section by section, put on a conditioning cap, and wrapped it up in a scarf topped with a hat so I could head out to the grocery store, fix lunch, etc. Later, I found the product was easy to rinse out and left my hair so curly and soft, I didn’t want to touch it! After checking myself out in the mirror for a while, I went ahead and did my usual routine of putting in my leave-in conditioner (Komaza Care Coconut Milk) and styling products (Qhemet Biologics Honeybush Tea Softgel and Kinky Curly Curling Custard). When my hair was done and dry, it was still curly, soft and touchable, just the way I like it.
Lovin’ it! (Ta-da ta-ta-ta....)
I just ordered the Komaza Care Moku Pre Shampoo Treatment using their Labor Day sale code - I’ll let you know how it works!

Qhemet Biologics now available at Sage Naturalceuticals
More exciting news in local Atlanta natural hair product availability... Qhemet Biologics is now available at Sage Naturalceuticals! This adds to the already great line of products available there, such as AfroVeda, Karen’s Body Beautiful and Zenzele. At the same time, however, QB is no longer available at Return to Eden.(wah, wah)... I will still visit RTE for Beautiful Curls products for my nieces and Bee and Flower soaps for Mom and myself, though ;-) Peace & love.
Natural Hair Products in Metro Atlanta
I am so excited that there are more places to buy natural hair products in the metro Atlanta area! My Mom recently visited Northlake Mall and discovered Healthy Hair Dimensions. They also have a kiosk at Stonecrest Mall. They carry my fav (Komaza Care!) as well as Donna Marie, Koils By Nature, Uncle Funky’s Daughter and more! The owners are really passionate about hair care, and are good at helping customers find the right product for their hair. The Northlake Mall store is located just inside the mall at the Briarcliff Road entrance. The address to Northlake Mall is 4800 Briarcliff Road, Atlanta, GA 30345. Visit soon!
